On the 16th of May, President Donald Trump retweeted a strong message from Rev. Dachomo, which read, ‘Nigerian Pastor Speaks Out The World Needs To Listen’.
On the 17th of May, on the annual ‘MARCH FOR JESUS’, the Anglican Bishop of Bukuru Diocese – Rt. Rev. Dr. Jwan B. N. Zhumbes was given the stage to appeal to millions of British Christians on the march.
He mentioned how widespread multidimensional Christian persecution had become and how Boko Haram and other terrorist groups operating in the region had attempted to kidnap him, but he miraculously escaped, and his neighbour was not lucky.
He appealed to the UK church not to abandon the Christians in Nigeria and how the situation was not static.
These attacks on innocent communities have been going on in the Middle Belt region of the country, as far back as 1994. Only now has the spotlight been shown on the suffering of these people because of their faith.
Nurture the Children International has a Christian ethos and has taken a stand for the propagation of Western education – getting as many childrenas we can into education sponsorship, keeping the fed, hydrated and safe from multidimensional abuse. This makes targets, too, as it is evident that all efforts towards education are seen as an abomination by these groups.
We need all the resources we can get to keep our team safe each time we visit these afflicted and persecuted communities, especially as the terrorists are getting bolder and visiting towns and cities with deadly attack with the one that occurred in Rukuba Community, which was featured in our April edition.
