12.5 million. An unimaginable number for the brain to truly comprehend. All of these lives; impacted and struggling. 12.5 million is the number of children in Nigeria who cannot go to school.
We may not ever be able to understand what goes on in their lives, how a child might feel or how dangerous it can be. But we don’t have to understand to have compassion, to want to help others. Though it may seem far from our reach, we can help.
So how can you help?
Nurture The Children have committed to helping these children in any way we can. Over 5,000 children have already been registered for help. But being just registered is unfortunately not enough, they need sponsors. For £30 a month you can sponsor a child. A sponsorship can provide support in school, uniform, food and also healthcare.
These children need to be invested in, so that they too can live well. This could change their lives. At NTC we have managed to change a few already, with some children who were sponsored by us now working as staff with us so that we can continue our ambition. To help children get the education and care that they deserve.
Elizabeth and David are two children who were helped by the sponsorship programme. They were roaming the streets and their mother had just given birth to her third child. And their father was poor and often absent. NTC helped Elizabeth and David to get safely back in school and now they are both healthy and at the top of their class.
