
Come February 2027, Nigeria will be electing a new set of leaders for the next four to eight years.
The polls indicate two major parties, APC – All Progressives Congress and NDC- Nigeria Democratic Congress, whose presidential candidates are His Excellency, Bola Tinubu (incumbent president) and Former Governor of Anambra State Mr. Peter Obi, respectively, are the ones to be reckoned with. However, it is on the day of elections that clarity will come.
There are reports that the masses are either being threatened, coerced, bribed, or persuaded to elect a certain leader.
The worsening level of insecurity and the weponization of hunger and poverty – which is on the rise, according to the World Bank. These elements inevitably heat up the polity.
In some climes, the employment of mercenaries to attack and wipe out communities in order to reduce their numbers and intimidate them from exercising the civil duty.
We at NTC are urging all our friends and families to be a great example at this time and to advise all youthful members of their community to vote leaders based on their performance, instead of allowing themselves to the ‘bought’ and ‘used’ as tools in the hands of evil politicians to cause commotion. Many have lost their lives needlessly because of this.
Many with bright futures cut short.
We also urge that adequate and versatile security infrastructure be put in place to ensure the safety and protection of innocent lives and their property.
