On the 2nd of May, the Annual Nzem Berom Festival on the indigenous Berom tribe of Plateau State, Nigeria. The home of the mighty Suga Warriors featured in one of the major mobile application games featured on the GAMES FOR GOOD by NTC Platform. This colourful event was attended by visitors across the country and some celebrities such as the famous Nigerian actress Mercy Johnson,  who is a huge fan of the work NTC International goes. This event was held, the concluding ceremony of a week-long programme.

Our charity was given a strategic location at the heart of the celebration ground in order to accommodate the long trail of visitors to the our stand who stopped by to download and play the games on the platform.

In our usual fashion, NTC International treated the children to goodie bags, face painting, and a chance to take pictures with our celebrity mascot who wore the costume of the protagonist in the ‘Suga Warrior Bounty ‘ game.

The festival was full of indigenous dressed in variations of the green and red cultural fabric. The green which is symbolic of our agricultural prowess and the red, represents our Suga warriors and symbol of strength and resilience of the Berom people of Plateau State.

Since 1999, the Berom people have suffered the worst of genocidal attacks by terrorist gangs of the Boko Haram forces – who deem Western Education an abomination and as a result launch attacks on communities, churches, burning down schools  which are usually  connected to the churches while attacking and killing teachers.

SUGA WARRIOR BOUNTY REAL STORY

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MOBILE GAME TO THE ACTIVITIES OF NTC INTERNATIONAL

The Suga Warrior Bounty – the ancient protectors of the land – is a tribute to this great people; the same tribe from which the Da Yusufu Pwol – Ja, the first ever chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government and the grand father of the founder of Nurture the Children International, Felicia Noro Pringle (nee Joel Pwol) hails.

The children could not get enough of the Fruit Munch game too, which mirrors the dedication of the NTC FOOD BANKS to feeding impoverished communities and providing regular schools meals to encourage attendance in schools and reduce the levels of truancy

Downloading the gave gives you an opportunity to be part of the progress and restoration of these crises torn communities, and with the keypads on your phones you would be literally feeding, building schools and mental resilience in children in the United Kingdom and abroad including the United States and Nigeria where the charity is fully registered and represented.
