Multiple images show the installation of a submersible pump. The top image shows two individuals working on connecting cables to a pump mechanism emerging from a hole in the ground. One person is holding a red float, and the other is manipulating wires. Below, one image displays a tangled mass of black and blue electrical cables. The bottom right image shows a silver submersible pump with a blue cable coiled around it, lying on a sandy, paved surface.

The 170 meter deep NTC Borehole drilled on the 28th of March 2025 in the Hwolshe, Kadimma community located in a very rocky terrain, where digging of wells is always a gamble, especially when the excavators come across rocks they cannot afford to blast through with expensive and dangerous explosives.

When the rainy season reduces, the water level drops further and the pump would need to work thrice as hard to bring water to the surface.
We have had to pay for the piping to be repositioned for a better chance of getting clean water to the community during the year.

Living in the UK, I have come to appreciate the gift of being able to simply turn on the tap to get clean water when needed.
